Te Whare Koha opperate a small food bank for people in their community. They have a community garden on site in which they grow vegetables for their clients. Their focus is to help reduce the impact of poverty by giving the community the opportunity to find its own solutions.
Te Whare Koha can help with a range of needs, including transport to health and social services, free phone and internet services, connecting people to the right support (counselling services etc), advocacy for Work and Income, and other information and advice. They have a Koha Shed, providing clothing for people who need it. They sometimes deliver food to elderly and disabled people.
There are no restrictions, but it is generally limited to people in the community of Highbury and the surrounding areas. However, all will be treated with compassion and respect.
